Jaane Kyon

Jaane Kyon ((ヒンディー語:जाने क्यूँ?), translation:''Wonder why?''; also known as "Jaane Kyun") is a song composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and written by Javed Akhtar from the 2001 soundtrack album Dil Chahta Hai. The song was sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, for which Udit received several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer.

The song was to be composed for situation to depict the two opposing point of views of the protagonists Akash (Aamir Khan) and Shalini (Preity Zinta) about love. Since the song is shot at Harbor Bridge area, Sydney, the trio has incorporated the sounds of the Australian aboriginal wind instrument Didgeridoo,〔http://www.uiowa.edu/~incinema/DilChahta.html〕 which gives a single rhythmic note.〔http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/features/2006/03/24/1104/index.html〕 The song was also backed up by a mock - aboriginal chorus, led by Caralisa Monteiro, who was on her singing debut.
